Task description and requirements

For one of our major clients we are currently looking for a freelancer who fulfills the following requirements:

 


Your Tasks:


• Lead and oversee the implementation and integration of storage and backup solutions into the existing IT infrastructure
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of storage and backup infrastructure
• Train employees on the usage of storage and backup solutions
• Develop and implement a comprehensive storage and backup strategy aligned with business requirements 
• Design and implement scalable, highly available, and secure storage and backup solutions
• Assess and select storage hardware, backup software, and data protection solutions based on specific requirements and budget
• Optimize storage and backup performance to ensure system efficiency and reliability
• Identify and resolve storage and backup issues to minimize system disruptions and data loss


 


Your Profile:


• Professional experience as a storage and backup architect or in a similar position
• In-depth knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, DAS, cloud storage, and object storage
• Comprehensive understanding of backup software, data protection strategies, and disaster recovery planning
• Experience in storage management operation, capacity planning, and concepts
• Familiarity with SAN technologies like HPE XP and Hitachi VSP, as well as NAS technologies like NetApp.
• Proficiency in backup/recovery operations and concepts using tools like Data Protector, VMware Image backup, and HPE StoreOnce
• Certifications in storage technologies such as HPE Storage, VMware vSAN, Veeam Backup & Replication, NetApp ONTAP, etc., are advantageous
• Good project management skills
• Fluent in English; German language skills would be advantageous
