Personal summary

Hello! I go by Madi. I'm a graduate from the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications. I have a bachelor's in journalism and I focused on print and web reporting and editing. I have been taught by award-winning journalists, one of whom holds a Pulitzer for investigative reporting and editing with the Associated Press. Other outlets include The Wall Street Journal, CNN, The New York Times and TIME. Today, I am mentored by a former foreign policy freelance journalist. For six years, I was a reporter of all different beats, but focused on local politics. Likewise, I have held two editor positions, one with a regional outlet and the other for UF's political review journal. My skills shine in transcription and editing. I have transcribed my own interviews and others as well. I'm new to Workhoppers, but I've been a freelancer for about eight months now and have worked with a handful of clients on their transcription needs from one-hour files to an ongoing position with a cybersecurity firm that required weekly deliverables. I'm efficient and savvy with my transcription and am capable of editing the document for grammar, spelling and structure. I also am very qualified for projects pertaining to qualitative research and data analysis and entry. For two years, I was a research assistant for a nationally-recognized think tank. My daily tasks included investigative research on various projects and I was also responsible for inputting datum into spreadsheets and analyzing them for themes.
